Your First Visit
When you first come in for a massage, you will be asked to fill out a confidential general information sheet. The sheet can be downloaded from the link below the picture on the right or you are welcome to come 10 minutes early and fill it out in our office.
The massage therapist will then take a history and do a short examination to become familiar with your specific case.
All introductory one hour massage appointment are only $69!
How much clothing do I need to remove for a massage?
The choice is up to you. For a full body massage, you can choose between undressing to your comfort level or wearing your underwear. Your massage therapist will give you privacy to undress and cover yourself on the table before she enters the room. You will be fully covered through your session except for the area being worked on.
Will I be comfortable?
You will relax on a table that is specially designed for stability and comfort. Different pillows or bolsters can be used to make your position more comfortable. The room will be warm, and with gentle music in the background.
The massage therapist may use heat packs to help you and your muscles relax.
Does the therapist use special oil or lotion?
A hypoallergenic, less greasy combination of oil and lotion will be used to ease the friction and will absorb well in case you have other commitments after the massage.
How will my massage therapist know if I want a deep massage?
Communication is key. Our therapist is able to give a very deep massage, or use a more gentle, relational touch. Everyone’s needs are unique and your massage should be tailored to your body. Letting your massage therapist know your preferences is always very helpful.
If you are a chiropractic patient in our office your doctor will communicate with your massage therapist about your case before your first massage appointment and throughout your care.
Can I choose specific areas for therapist to work on?
Of course! The time is yours and we want to ensure that you get relief in the areas you need it most. The case history and pre-massage discussions will ensure that the therapist focuses on your issue.
Can I get a same day appointment?
We understand that sometimes life is so busy that we don’t schedule a massage until we really need one. We will always do our best to get you in that day, or as soon as your schedule allows.
What will I experience after my massage?
After the massage many people experience freedom from pain and aches that have built up over time. After an initial period of feeling very relaxed you will notice a decrease in chronic tension and symptoms. Many people experience an increase in energy that can last for days.
If I am also receiving chiropractic care does the massage therapist work closely with the chiropractors in the office to manage my case?
Of course! Communication between the doctors, massage therapist (and patients of course) is a very important part of the healing process. These 2 healing arts definitely compliment each other getting you back to health as soon as possible.
Can I use my insurance?
Yes! The massage therapist in the office is registered and therefore covered by many insurance plans. Our office staff will provide you with everything you need to ensure that you are able to utilize your benefits.
Will the massage make recommendations for ongoing care?
Yes. The therapist will assess your case history and ongoing stresses and recommend a schedule of care to keep you feeling your best. How often you decide to benefit from massage is always up to you.
Are there special rates if I come regularly?
Yes! You can always choose to “pay as you go” and pay out regular retail fees. However, we have special saving plans through our massage therapy club that provide a discounted rate for those clients who choose to benefit from regular massage or choose to undergo a series of sessions to alleviate symptoms.
How do I set my first appointment?
We will find a time that is convenient for you. You can then download the initial paperwork from the top of this page, have one of our team members email it to you or arrive 10 minutes early and fill it our in our office as you have a cup of our delicious tea.
