How to Make Your Adjustments Last Longer

Maximizing the Benefits: Feeling Better for Longer

If you’re reading this, you’ve likely taken the first step towards better health through chiropractic care – congratulations! Whether you’ve recently had your first adjustment or you’re a seasoned chiropractic patient, you’re likely wondering how to maintain all the benefits of your adjustments for as long as possible.

We understand that our modern lifestyle makes it almost impossible for our patients to avoid the issues that contributed to their symptoms. Don’t worry, we have the solutions for that!

In this article, we explore the three strategies that help your spine stay strong and aligned for as long as possible.

1. Daily Realigning Exercises – Rocking and The Lengthener

Here are the two most effective exercises to keeping your joints mobile, aligned and healthy.

These exercises are also especially helpful if you wake up achy, to eliminate the tension that builds up at your desk or after a long day of driving or standing.

Exercise #1: Rocking

2. Posture – The Foundation of Alignment

One of the most critical factors in maintaining the effects of your chiropractic adjustments is paying attention to your posture. This doesn’t mean holding a rigid position all day but rather using your body in the most efficient way while creating the least amount of stress and tension.

Posture is a giant topic that we delve into deeply with our patients. If we covered everything we teach about posture in this blog post it would be far too long!

3. Listen to Your Body and Communicate with Your Chiropractor

Pain or discomfort may sometimes resurface between adjustments, and while some discomfort is inevitable in life, the better you get at isolating the cause and correcting it in a timely manner, the more likely you’ll avoid a great deal of it.

Take note of specific triggers that lead to pain or discomfort.

  • Is it worse after certain exercises?
  • Does a long day of sitting make for a harder evening?
  • Do different chairs or work stations have an effect?
  • Do you notice more pain if you’ve forgotten to drink enough water or eaten inflammatory foods?

If you notice any patterns, please share these insights with your chiropractor during your next visit. If we isolate them, we can fix them!

Open communication with your chiropractor ensures a collaborative approach to your care.

And once you’re coming to our office less often (because you’re feeling amazing), please don’t hesitate to call for an extra “tune up” if you feel something’s off. Our patients know that one extra occasional tune up saves them months of pain and worry.

We’re here for you whenever you need it. Remember, we’ve got your back, and together, we’ll achieve your health and wellness goals!
