Custom Orthotics
Alignment is Everything
At Pure-Health, we know that alignment is everything. It affects how you feel at the end of a workday, how well you keep up with your kids, recover from workouts, swing a golf club, and even how quickly you bounce back from injuries or illness.
Alignment isn’t just about standing tall, it’s shaped by many factors: how your weight is distributed through your feet when you stand, how you walk, and the posture you hold throughout the day. When alignment is off, tension builds, leading to premature arthritis, strain, and injury.
Balance Starts From the Ground Up
Your feet are the base of your entire structure. If your foot posture is imbalanced, the effects travel upward — impacting your knees, hips, spine, and even your neck.
This is why many spine, hip, ankle, and knee issues are caused or worsened by poor gait. When the forces coming up from the ground are uneven, your body is forced to compensate. Over time, this creates tension, pain, and injury.
Custom orthotics restore balance from the ground up. They support healthy alignment, make posture easier to maintain, and reduce the stress on your joints and spine.
How Do I Get Started?
Step 1: Book an Initial Orthotic Consultation
Your first appointment is a short visit to discuss your symptoms, daily activities, and footwear needs. Dr. Neely will assess your gait and determine whether custom orthotics are the right solution for you.
Step 2: Custom Foot Molding (30-Minute Visit)
If orthotics are recommended, you’ll return for a longer appointment where a precise mold of your feet is taken.
The mold captures the exact contours and pressure points of your feet using a non-weight-bearing 3D foam impression in subtalar neutral — the gold standard for accurate alignment.
Step 3: Expert Fabrication at Orthogenic Laboratories
Your mold is scanned into a 3-dimensional database. Using specialized modeling software and CAD/CAM precision carving, your orthotics are custom-crafted and finished by a laser orthotic specialist for an exact fit.
Step 4: Fitting & Follow-Up
Once your orthotics arrive, Dr. Neely ensures they fit perfectly for your preferred footwear , whether for work, fitness, or everyday . You’ll also receive advice on break-in and care to ensure lasting results.
Frequently Asked
Questions
Are custom orthotics covered by my insurance?
Most extended health insurance plans offer coverage for custom orthotics.
Because plans differ, we recommend calling your provider before ordering.
When you speak with them, ask:
How much coverage do I have for custom-made orthotics?
Do I require a referral? If yes, who can write it?
Who can provide the orthotics? (At Pure-Health, Dr. Jamie Neely, chiropractor, works in conjunction with Orthogenic Laboratories to create your custom orthotics.)
We’ll provide all required documentation — including your gait analysis report and a detailed lab description — to make your claim submission simple.
How much do they cost?
Custom orthotics are $400 plus HST.
What kind of shoes can I use them in?
Your orthotics are made for the shoes you wear most — whether dress shoes, athletic footwear, or work boots. Dr. Neely will ensure they suit your lifestyle and can often be transferred between pairs.
What happens on my first orthotics consultation?
Your initial visit is a short consultation with Dr. Neely to discuss your symptoms, footwear, and activity level. He’ll assess your gait and posture to see whether custom orthotics are right for you.
If orthotics are recommended, you’ll book a 30-minute appointment for precise casting. A 3D foam impression of your feet is taken and sent to Orthogenic Laboratories for custom fabrication.
